A low environmental impact, flexible office space development in rural Stannington, Northumberland. Our remit was the enhancement of an existing reception, break-out space and meeting room that were sparse and unwelcoming. The focus was on a sustainabile, environmentally-friendly specification with contemporary styling. Sustainable materials such as cork wall cladding (chosen also for its acoustic absorbance), climate positive Marmoleum flooring and locally sourced stone used in the design of the new hand-crafted reception desk were utilised throughout the scheme. Repurposed Vitra chairs combined with UK manufactured furniture again helped minimised the environmental impact.
